TOUR PACKAGE

Bhutan Honeymoon Package

A slow, private route through Paro, Thimphu and Punakha — romantic stays, unhurried mornings and a guide who knows when to leave you alone.

Duration tailored to your dates · Price on request

Overview

Bhutan suits honeymooners for the same reason it suits anyone who wants a quieter trip — there are no crowds to fight, distances are short, and the days end early. This route keeps to the western valleys so you are never more than a few hours in the car, with time built in for long lunches and afternoons that go nowhere in particular.

You travel with your own guide and driver throughout. Hotels are chosen for character rather than size, and we are happy to swap any of them for something more or less indulgent once we know your budget.

Highlights

Day by day

A sample route through the western valleys. We reshape it around your dates, pace and budget.

The descent into Paro is one of the more memorable landings in the world. We meet you at the airport, then drive about an hour to Thimphu along the river. The rest of the day is yours to adjust to the altitude — a short walk into town if you are up for it, otherwise nothing at all.

The Buddha Dordenma above the valley, the National Memorial Chorten, and the weekend market if your dates line up. Thimphu is small enough to see properly in a day and is the easiest place to buy anything you forgot to pack.

The drive climbs to the Dochula Pass and its 108 chortens; on a clear morning the eastern Himalaya are visible from the ridge. Then down into the warmer Punakha valley, with an afternoon at Punakha Dzong where the two rivers meet.

A gentle morning in Punakha — the suspension bridge, or the walk up to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten through the rice terraces — before the drive back west to Paro for the night.

An early start for Paro Taktsang. The climb takes most people four to five hours round trip, with a teahouse at the halfway point and horses available for the first stretch. There is no rush and no fixed turnaround time.

Breakfast, then the short transfer to Paro airport. If your flight is late we will find something to fill the morning.
